Anger Management

What is anger ?? “A strong feeling of annoyance, displeasure, or hostility.”

It is a completely natural human (and even non-human) emotion that we can experience. It is a functional survival instinct all related to the fight/flight response protecting us from what we perceive to be a danger or threat. Sometimes however our brains can get and wrong, and perhaps our children fighting, a boss at work, or a partner can illicit the same response. When our anxiety/stress levels are higher than they should be  (and this can be a gradual build up), our brains will see more things to be a threat.

When we are angry the body releases stress hormones, such as adrenaline, noradrenaline and cortisol. The heart rate, blood pressure, body temperature and breathing rate increase. Regular episodes of anger can eventually make people ill.

Obviously the effects on our families, friends and loved ones goes without mentioning.
