Update to Therapeutic Agreement 2020

CORONAVIRUS COVID-19 VIRUS

The aim of this document is to prevent the spread of coronavirus and allay your anxieties. It is to ensure that both you the client, and I your therapist, are doing are upmost to protect ourselves and others.

Please follow the advice listed by the government and NHS websites as below:

Latest UK Government information, including countries of risk and travel advice: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-information-for-the-public

Latest advice from the NHS, including hand-washing advice, contact numbers and self-isolation procedures: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/

  • If you have recently returned from overseas from any of the high-risk areas listed on the website within the last 14 days you are advised to self-isolate. This may mean that you will need to postpone your face to face appointment with me or arrange an online session, which I will be happy to explain the process to you in detail.
  • Similarly, the Government advises that anyone who has travelled back to the UK from any other country identified on their website and shows symptoms of fever, a cough or shortness of breath, the individual should self-isolate, even if symptoms are mild.
  • If you identify in one of the high-risk groups, it is better to have online sessions until further notice to protect yourself.
  • I will ensure that my equipment and surroundings in the clinics that I work from are kept clean and disinfected to minimise any risks. However, please feel free to decline any part of usual therapy that you are not comfortable with.
  • As an extra layer of protection during this time I will not be shaking hands, using the GSR monitor on your fingers, or sharing the tablet to complete your outcomes.

Should I contract coronavirus, I may be obliged to inform the health authorities of everyone I have been in contact with. In this case, I may need to share your name and contact details. Please note I will not inform any Health Authority that I am your therapist or share the context of our contact, but you may subsequently be contacted by the Health Authority.

The Government advice about COVID-19 is constantly evolving, so it would be prudent to keep up to date by following the links above
